YBLA Ambassadors Earn over
$9 Million Dollars in Scholarships!
At YBLA, our expectation is excellence. Our 2021 graduating High School seniors completely exceeded our expectations this year by earning over 9 million dollars in scholarships collectively. Of that $9 million, we had 58 Ambassadors who were offered full ride scholarships. This group attained a whopping 619 college acceptances to some of the best schools in the country, including 9 admissions to Ivy League universities. We are incredibly proud of our 2021 Senior Ambassador class. We can’t wait to see where their journey to becoming a Black leader takes them!

We Build Leaders!
At YBLA, we develop young Black men and women into leaders who will positively impact their peers, families, communities, and beyond.
We focus on helping our young people become leaders who are college and career-ready. In 2020, 100% of our students went on to attend a four-year college. They earned more than $7.6M in college scholarships including the Gates Millennial, Oprah Winfrey, and Cheatham-White scholarships.
Our Programs
AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
The YBLA Ambassador program is the organization’s flagship platform. Ambassadors are the face of YBLA, personifying our commitment to student leadership, service, and education. Ambassadors are focused on positively impacting their communities, their peers, and the world. This program is highly competitive and will be delivered in-person and online for 11th graders with a 3.0 or higher weighted cumulative GPA.
YLEADERS PROGRAM
The YBLA YLeaders program is an innovative program designed to prepare Black students and their parents for college admissions and to secure college scholarships. The YLeader program leverages technology to virtually connect students and parents to college advising, workshops, ACT & SAT Test prep, and college admissions professionals from around the nation.
We achieve our results by focusing on our three pillars of Leadership, Service and Education.
OUR RESULTS
YBLA has been successfully working with black students, parents and community partners for over 13 years. We have the knowledge, experience and best practices needed to work effectively with young leaders and their families. Our staff and volunteers bring expertise from the corporate, non-profit and education fields. We have forged several strategic relationships with colleges, universities, and businesses that allow us to connect our students to leadership, college, and career-related opportunities.
