We Build Leaders!

At YBLA, we develop young black leaders to have a positive impact in their community and beyond. We focus on helping our young people become leaders that are college and career ready. As our young leaders strive to succeed, they are trained to reach back and mentor elementary, middle and high school students. We achieve our goals through Leadership, Service and Education.

Our Program

AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

Shaping leaders of today and tomorrow

The YBLA Ambassador program is the organization’s flagship platform.  Ambassadors are the face of the organization, personifying our commitment to student leadership, service, and education.  The selection process for the program is highly competitive. We identify high school students, grades 9 - 11 with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (A/B honor roll for 8th grade students) who demonstrate leadership and participate in community service.

OUR RESULTS

YBLA has been successfully working with black students, parents and community partners for over 13 years. We have the knowledge, experience and best practices needed to work effectively with young leaders and their families. Our staff and volunteers bring expertise from the corporate, non-profit and education fields. We have forged several strategic relationships with colleges, universities, and businesses that allow us to connect our students to leadership, college, and career-related opportunities.
